Bosnia and Herzegovina: Initial National Communication to the UNFCCC

Eco Ltd worked with the country office of an international development organization to finalize the Initial National Communication (INC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The INC represented a ground-breaking, cumulative effort of more than 40 specialists from BiH’s three entities. Eco’s expert worked to transform the report into a consistent whole that would meet the working deadline of submission before the upcoming UNFCCC Conference of the Parties.

Energy Efficiency in the Public Sector

Eco compiled a report on public sector energy efficiency in more than 30 countries, identifying best practices and preparing recommendations for helping local, regional, and national governments to save energy and reduce public expenditures.

The report, which covers several regions, found that while there had been many significant improvements in public sector energy efficiency programs, there was still significant potential to save energy in nearly every area where governments were spending money for basic operations.

Climate Change and Human Development in Croatia

Energy services for disadvantaged communities in Hungary and Slovakia

Eco Ltd has supported the development of a project to address the energy needs of marginalized communities in Hungary and Slovakia. The project task was to develop a project document (proposal) for funding by UNDP Thematic Trust funds. Eco’s experts called upon their knowledge of the region and sustainable energy in the context of poor communities to produce a high quality and relevant project design.

Biomass Energy Lessons Learnt

Eco is the lead consultant for the development of this lesson's learnt report on "Opportunities for Biomass Energy Programmes - Experiences and Lessons Learnt", which is part of a Lessons for the Future, Monitoring and Evaluation Report Series. Eco is also the author of the Southern and Eastern Africa, and the European region chapters of the report as well as the introductory and the concluding chapters.
